So, Celica.

I can't not star my long lost half brother.

Instructions unclear. Ended up with this.

It’s been literally days since I posted about my mildly careworn Pontiac. Maybe an Oppo review is in order.

THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS??

It’s a little more than old Z louvers go for, but there are probably less of them around. Or there’s a set on eBay, with the rear hatch for 650.

... [backtracks]
So as I was saying, totally keeping the car stock.

Nice 6-cylinder Celica you got there.

Ha! I’ve got to take the plunge one day due to relentless Austin sun.

Yeah that's my issue too... it has no AC so the people in the back are going to bake like snickerdoodles. Half the car is basically glass.

‘84 right? I drove one just like that a while back. It was pretty darn cool. Seating position I recall being a bit odd but not uncomfortable.

Yeah, greenhouse effect. But people cookies sound pretty good. And then no one will ask you for rides.

Yay for keeping it stock!
Going to do any restore-y type stuff?

‘85. The last RWD model year.
That was a good read, and I can see what you mean. I really wanted a loaded ‘78 coupe but it was pretty much impossible to find one in decent condition, and manual. Conversely, this ‘85 gave me a much better feeling than the ‘86 I drove a few months ago. I would have killed for a GT-S, but I found this GT for thousands less.

Retrofitting AC for the 22RE engine, cutting out the rust under the spare tire, might replace a couple of cracked lenses. Knowing me this will take years to make progress.
